Tomato & Onion Salad

About this recipe

There are many great Italian tomato and onion salads, like caprese or paesano. But unfortunately, none of them are from our part. We make it with tuna. So here you go.

Instructions

Cut up tomatoes and a white or purple onion.

Toss with:

  • olive oil,
  • salt,
  • pepper,
  • some black olives.
  • a can of tuna,
  • maybe some fresh basil.

Then add balsamic or red wine vinegar to taste and toss again.

To make this more of a main course, throw in a can of chickpeas.

Notes

  •
Tuna in Italian culture is not interchangeable with salmon like it is in North America. We think tuna is boss because it grows in the ocean beside us. Salmon was invented by people in B.C., and it is completely different.
