Steamed Asparagus

About this recipe

These look lovely playing left wing on a large platter with stuffed red peppers in the middle and stuffed zucchini on the other side.


Buy a nice bundle of asparagus. Wash, break off ends, and steam 5-10 minutes (some like them crunchy; some like them cooked).

Mix with:

  • olive oil,
  • salt and pepper.

And then sprinkle (or shave) Parmesan cheese over top.


  • You can just boil them using a shallow pan. 
  • You can also roast asparagus in the oven or grill on the barbecue. In this case, season with oil, salt, and pepper before cooking.
    I have another grill idea: wrap three spears in a slice of prosciutto, brush with olive oil, and season with pepper. (You don’t need more salt because of the prosciutto.)
