Barbecued Cuttlefish (Seppia)
About this recipe
This is Zia Lina's specialty. Our part of the country is next to the coldest part of the Adriatic, which therefore yields the best seppia. (It's okay, I didn't know that either.)
Mix cuttlefish (it’s like squid) with:
- chopped fresh parsley,
- chopped fresh garlic,
- bread crumbs,
- salt and pepper (could use chili),
- a little olive oil,
- fresh lemon juice.
Let marinate in refrigerator for 2 hours. Place on skewers and barbecue over medium heat.
I remember being in Italy when Zia served this. As we were eating, we all kept checking to see how much was left in the bowl.
